About the Role

Wolviston Management Services, on behalf of our client, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Bias) to join their operations team. You'll play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and improving production plant equipment to ensure reliability, performance, and compliance with strict safety standards. This is a hands-on, varied role within a fast-paced industrial environment, supporting both planned and reactive maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Planned Maintenance (PM) schedules in line with site plans, ensuring safety, efficiency, and minimal disruption to production.
  • Carry out reactive maintenance and fault-finding, identifying root causes and implementing long-term engineering solutions.
  • Support and deliver improvement projects aimed at increasing reliability, reducing downtime, and improving cost efficiency.
  • Conduct dynamic risk assessments, maintaining compliance with site Health & Safety and LOTO procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to achieve optimum plant performance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adopting a "clean as you go" approach.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Time-served Maintenance Technician or equivalent with NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience within a manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance strategies, CMMS systems, and condition monitoring.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, including LOTO and COSHH.
  • Computer literate, with the ability to analyse data and complete maintenance documentation.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.

Desirable:

  • HNC or City & Guilds in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical control systems (PLC, inverter drives).
  • Knowledge of waste or materials processing equipment.
