What You Need to Know About the Role

We’re supporting a key client in the recruitment of an experienced Mechanical Craftsperson to join their Engineering Team at their state‑of‑the‑art facility in Teesside. This role is instrumental in ensuring the reliability and safety of essential plant equipment across a highly mechanised and automated operation. Working under the guidance of the Shift Engineering Team Leader and reporting to the Shift Manager, you will deliver reactive and planned mechanical maintenance to a high standard. Your mechanical expertise will be put to use in both preventative maintenance routines and reactive fault diagnosis, helping to maintain the performance and availability of equipment crucial to site operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs to support plant reliability.
  • Respond effectively to breakdowns and maintenance issues across a range of assets.
  • Work safely at all times in line with site safety standards and legislative requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate hazards within your area of responsibility.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out using computer-based systems (SAP).
  • Support a collaborative approach to problem‑solving across engineering and operations teams.

You will ideally have:

  • A recognised time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or equivalent.
