Our client is seeking a Laboratory Technician / Researcher to join their cutting-edge research and development team in Middlesbrough. This is an ongoing temporary role working ad hoc hours offering hands-on experience with some of the most advanced analytical technologies in the sector.
In this role, you’ll play a vital part in delivering innovative research projects that support decarbonisation, circular economy initiatives, and advanced materials development across heavy industry.
Duties involved:
Operating high-spec analytical equipment including SEM, XRD, XRF, OES, and TGA
Preparing and analysing material samples with precision and care
Interpreting data, supporting technical teams, and ensuring quality across results
Taking ownership of equipment upkeep, safety, and user training protocols Requirements:
A background in materials science, chemistry, physics, or a related field
Experience operating laboratory instrumentation (SEM, XRD, XRF, or similar)
Someone proactive, detail-driven, and passionate about scientific discovery
