Wolviston Management Services is proud to be working in partnership with Tioxide to recruit a Workshop Lead for their Greatham site.
This is a key engineering leadership role where you will lead the onsite workshop, equipment refurbishment team and onsite equipment and materials stores facilities.
You will oversee off-plant overhauls and refurbishments, improve equipment repair quality, manage stores performance and ensure materials, spares and refurbished equipment are available to support safe and efficient production operations.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead onsite workshop and equipment refurbishment activity.
- Oversee off-plant equipment overhauls and refurbishments to support production operations.
- Ensure overhaul prioritisation, planning and timing are aligned with plant operational needs.
- Support right-first-time onsite repairs through strong quality assurance and control.
- Ensure external service providers work to the correct engineering standards and deliver quality performance.
- Control and track offsite equipment refurbishments.
- Identify equipment improvement opportunities and manage improvement strategy with the Site Engineering Team and Area Technical Engineers.
- Lead onsite equipment and materials stores facilities.
- Work with onsite and offsite purchasing teams to ensure accurate tracking, coordination and storage of consumables and replacement equipment.
- Ensure spares are available when required.
- Support work order kitting to improve maintenance efficiency.
- Manage workshop and stores resource and budgetary controls.
- Ensure changes to materials, equipment or specifications are risk assessed through Management of Change.
- Lead, performance manage, motivate and develop Workshops and Stores team members.
- Lead L3 maintenance, E&I, workshop and stores strategy.
- Promote a values-led culture focused on safety, performance and continuous improvement.
Candidate requirements
- A degree, or equivalent knowledge, in engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
- Strong manufacturing or engineering experience in a comparable industrial environment.
- Experience leading workshop, stores, refurbishment, overhaul or maintenance support activity.
- Experience managing people, budgets, resources and performance.
- Experience supporting manufacturing improvement or continuous improvement.
- A good understanding of equipment overhaul, refurbishment, spares management and stores processes.
- The ability to work with purchasing, engineering, maintenance and production teams.
- Strong planning, communication and leadership skills.
- A commitment to safe working, inclusion, quality, compliance and values-led behaviours.
