Wolviston Management Services are recruiting on behalf of Tioxide Materials Ltd for 5 Packing Technicians to join the team at their manufacturing facility in Greatham, Hartlepool.
Job Purpose: The overall purpose of the Packing Technician is to ensure the safe and efficient running of the finished product packing unit to achieve the business targets, complying with our Zero Harm and PSM policies by working collaboratively as a member of the Shift Packing Technician team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Packing Operations: Conduct the routine operation of Auto Packing as part of a wider shift team, demonstrating strong self-drive and a willingness to develop understanding of the packing systems and processes.
- Communication & Production Support: Establish communication with the Process Shift Lead, detailing any issues which may result in deviations from the production plan. Ensure actions from production meetings and Plant Manager instructions are implemented within the Auto Packing area.
- Equipment Monitoring & Investigation: Perform routine monitoring of the Integra 25kg Bag Packing Machines through visual inspection and PLC controls. Identify process deviations, investigate potential causes, and implement and record remedial actions where required.
- Compliance & Safety: Perform all duties in compliance with business conduct policies, site guidelines, Life Saving Rules and Corporate Compliance requirements, maintaining the highest standards of safety at all times.
- Training & Competence: Achieve and maintain competence through training, validation and revalidation activities, including forklift truck certification where required.
- Zero Harm Culture: Ensure a Zero Harm mindset is applied to all packing area activities through strict adherence to site safety procedures, including the FLT Halo system.
- Operational Excellence: Follow operating instructions and procedures to ensure the packing plant is operated safely, efficiently and effectively, supporting achievement of production objectives.
- Equipment Reliability & Team Support: Monitor equipment performance and report defects to support timely repair and replacement. Provide support to Warehouse Technicians when required to maintain operational efficiency.
Experience and Qualifications:
Essential:
- Experience in a manufacturing, packing, warehouse or production environment.
- Capability to attain a forklift licence.
- Basic computer literacy, with the ability to use production systems, PLC/HMI screens or electronic reporting tools.
- Good communication skills, including effective shift handover and escalation of issues.
Desirable:
- Relevant manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, process operations or engineering qualification.
- Experience of automated packaging lines.
- Previous FLT experience.
