Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide interim support at their COMAH-regulated chemical manufacturing site in Teesside. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining mechanical safety, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness during a transition period.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor condition of rotating and static equipment
- Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Prioritise high-risk maintenance backlog items
- Ensure compliance with PSSR, PUWER and LOLER
- Liaise with inspection bodies
- Supervise contractors and review RAMS
- Support asset preservation and restart planning
- Update equipment records and contribute to engineering handover documentation
Requirements
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience within COMAH chemical manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of pressure systems and rotating equipment
- Familiarity with CMMS systems
- Ability to operate independently in reduced staffing environments
