Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide interim support at their COMAH-regulated chemical manufacturing site in Teesside. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining mechanical safety, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness during a transition period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor condition of rotating and static equipment
  • Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities
  • Prioritise high-risk maintenance backlog items
  • Ensure compliance with PSSR, PUWER and LOLER
  • Liaise with inspection bodies
  • Supervise contractors and review RAMS
  • Support asset preservation and restart planning
  • Update equipment records and contribute to engineering handover documentation

Requirements

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience within COMAH chemical manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of pressure systems and rotating equipment
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems
  • Ability to operate independently in reduced staffing environments
