This is a key electrical engineering role where you will help maintain the integrity, reliability and compliance of the site’s electrical infrastructure. Working closely with the Electrical Technical Authority and Responsible Electrical Engineer, you will support safe and reliable operations across a complex manufacturing environment.

You will play a visible role in electrical infrastructure maintenance, HV authorisations, fault diagnosis, asset improvement and the safe delivery of planned work. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical electrical knowledge with planning, supervision, safe systems of work and practical site delivery.

What you’ll be doing

  • Ensure electrical operations, maintenance, inspection and testing activities comply with regulations, corporate standards, site procedures and recognised best practice.
  • Plan and schedule electrical infrastructure maintenance in line with the overall maintenance strategy.
  • Define maintenance, inspection and testing activities, supervising internal and contractor resources in the delivery of work.
  • Act as Permit Acceptor when required.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to asset teams, including complex electrical fault diagnosis.
  • Identify and lead electrical asset improvement activity, including upgrades and replacement of ageing or obsolete assets.
  • Support CAPEX projects through design, installation and commissioning activity.
  • Support the training and development of electrical resources across the site.
  • Direct and support maintenance task, plan and SAP object updates.
  • Authorise and issue HV Permits to Work, Limitations of Access Permits and Conditions for Live Working Permits.
  • Promote a positive, values-led culture focused on safety, reliability and high standards.

Candidate requirements

  • An HNC, or equivalent knowledge, in Electrical Engineering.
  • Significant electrical engineering experience in chemical manufacturing, process manufacturing, utilities, power, infrastructure or a similar industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations and relevant British Standards.
  • Experience working with HV and LV networks, ideally up to and including 11kV.
  • High Voltage Authorised Person training.
  • The ability to plan, organise and supervise maintenance, inspection and testing activities.
  • Experience supporting fault diagnosis, asset improvements or electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with site teams, contractors and technical specialists.
  • A commitment to safe working, inclusion, continuous improvement and values-led behaviours.
