Wolviston Management Services are recruiting on behalf of Tioxide Materials Ltd for an experienced HV Authorised Person to join the Engineering team at their manufacturing facility in Greatham, Hartlepool.

Job Purpose: The HV Authorised Person is part of the Engineering function and reports to the Electrical Technical Authority, working under the direction of the HV Senior Authorised Person. The role works closely with the HV Senior Authorised Person and Electrical Technical Authority, Asset Teams, Project Group, electrical technicians, contractors and site operations teams to support the integrity, reliability and compliance of the Greatham site's electrical infrastructure. The role supports the HV Senior Authorised Person in maintaining the integrity, reliability and compliance of the site's electrical infrastructure through predictive and preventative maintenance routines, defect repair and the leadership of third-party contractors. The position ensures electrical infrastructure is operated, maintained, inspected and tested in accordance with regulatory, corporate and site standards, helping to mitigate risks to safety, asset integrity and site production capability.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Compliance & Standards: Ensure electrical operations, maintenance, inspection and testing activities are carried out in compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, site procedures and recognised industry best practice.
  • Maintenance Delivery: Carry out scheduled electrical infrastructure maintenance activities in accordance with the overall maintenance strategy and guidance provided by the Electrical Technical Authority.
  • Predictive & Preventative Maintenance: Perform predictive and preventative HV/LV maintenance routines in accordance with the site maintenance management system (SAP).
  • Inspection, Testing & Supervision: Carry out maintenance, inspection and testing activities while leading and supervising associated personnel and contractor resources to ensure safe and effective delivery of maintenance plans.
  • Permit-to-Work Responsibilities: Act as Permit Acceptor where required and authorise or issue HV Permits to Work and Limitation of Access Permits for external work groups.
  • Technical Support & Fault Finding: Provide electrical technical support and guidance to Asset Teams, leading unusual or complex fault diagnosis activities and supporting effective resolution of electrical issues.
  • Asset Improvement Projects: Carry out electrical asset improvement activities, including infrastructure upgrades and replacement projects for ageing or obsolete equipment.
  • Project & Development Support: Support capital project design, installation and commissioning activities involving electrical infrastructure and systems, while assisting with the training and development of site electrical resources and maintaining SAP maintenance plans and tasks.

Experience and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Qualified to a minimum of ONC level in Electrical Engineering or currently working towards this qualification.
  • Significant HV/LV electrical engineering experience gained within chemical manufacturing, process manufacturing, utilities, power distribution or a similar industrial environment.
  • Good working knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant British Standards relating to electrical infrastructure, inspection, testing and safe operation.
  • Experience of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, including networks up to and including 11kV.
  • Trained as a High Voltage Authorised Person.
  • Experience in the planning and execution of electrical maintenance, inspection and testing activities.
  • Ability to provide technical support and guidance on complex electrical fault diagnosis.
  • Ability to lead and supervise associate and contractor resources safely and effectively.
  • Strong commitment to compliance, safe systems of work and engineering best practice.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a high-hazard, Upper Tier COMAH or chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience acting as an Authorised Person on industrial HV networks.
  • Experience issuing HV Permits to Work, Limitation of Access Permits and Conditions for Live Working permits.
  • Experience using SAP to maintain maintenance tasks, plans or associated technical objects.
  • Experience supporting the coaching and development of electrical technicians or site electrical resources.
