Wolviston Management Services are delighted to be supporting our client in the appointment of a Finance & Operations Administrator to join their growing team. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone at an early stage of their finance career who is keen to develop, gain exposure across the wider business, and play an active part in day-to-day operations. While finance is a core element of the role, it is important to note that this position also supports wider operational and administrative activities — offering a well-rounded and engaging opportunity.
The Role
As Finance & Operations Administrator, you will support the smooth running of the finance function while also assisting with operational and administrative tasks that keep the business moving. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable wearing multiple hats, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with colleagues across finance, operations and the wider business, contributing to both transactional finance activities and practical day-to-day support.
Key Responsibilities
- Finance Duties
- Support purchase ledger activities, including processing, checking and coding invoices
- Assist with sales ledger administration and preparation of customer statements
- Carry out bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Support credit control activities, including monitoring accounts and chasing outstanding payments
- Assist with month-end processes and general finance administration
- Respond to finance-related queries from internal stakeholders and external customers
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to operational teams as required
- Assist with maintaining internal systems, records and documentation
- Support general office and business administration tasks to ensure smooth operations
- Liaise with colleagues across departments to support workflow and priorities
- Undertake ad-hoc duties to support both finance and operational requirements
About You
- Some experience within a finance, accounts or administrative role, or transferable experience from a busy office environment
- Studying towards AAT qualifications, or keen to begin the AAT pathway
- Comfortable working across both finance and non-finance tasks
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach
- Confident IT skills, particularly with Excel and internal systems
- A proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to get involved where needed
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a small, busy team
