We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established law firm for a Finance Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis in Stockton-on-Tees. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive and friendly team, with flexibility to work full-time hours, over four or five days per week. As a Finance Assistant, you will be involved in a wide range of finance and administration tasks, contributing to the smooth running of the department.
Key Responsibilities:- Processing day-to-day client transactions
- Posting client and office bank statements
- Raising work-in-progress (WIP) and disbursement bills
- Providing finance support to all legal departments
- Checking and processing completion packs
- Handling client-related reconciliations
- Conducting audit and general control reviews
- Archiving and general administrative duties
- Ensuring compliance with Solicitor Accounting Rules
- Experience in a financial role (Legal Cashier experience is desirable but not essential)
- Strong numerical, analytical, and reconciliation skills
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- A keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail
- Willingness to travel occasionally to the Newcastle office (as required)
