Area Engineering Manager Location: Greatham Client: TIOXIDE Salary: Competitive

Lead engineering performance on one of the UK’s major TiO manufacturing sites. Wolviston Management Services is delighted to be working in partnership with TIOXIDE to recruit an Area Engineering Manager for their White End Manufacturing team at Greatham. This is a high-impact leadership role at TIOXIDE’s largest TiO production site.

You will provide engineering leadership for the White End assets, ensuring they are maintained in line with statutory requirements and engineering standards, while leading technical resources to improve plant availability, reliability and performance. You will work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering colleagues and specialist contractors to solve complex technical challenges and deliver continuous improvement across a key manufacturing area.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead engineering activity across the White End assets, including PSSR, pressure systems and safety instrumented systems compliance.
  • Uphold site, corporate, national and international engineering standards across inspection and maintenance activity.
  • Lead Mechanical, Electrical and Instrument Engineers in investigations, problem solving, failure analysis and incident investigation.
  • Work with specialist contractors to plan safe, effective solutions for complex repairs and modifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement through loss analysis, reliability improvements and innovative engineering solutions.
  • Work with the Resource Manager to identify technical resource needs and support the plant team.
  • Develop KPIs to demonstrate mechanical, electrical and instrument statutory compliance.
  • Lead, support, motivate and develop team members.
  • Promote a positive, values-led culture focused on safety, collaboration and high performance.
  • Lead the Asset Maintenance Strategy.
  • Act as Site Engineering Manager Nominee and Management of Change and Inhibits signatory.
  • Lead the asset engineering interface with relevant external authorities.

The White End area includes finished product packing, warehouse operations, DELTIO operations, Dirt Filter Press and Effluent Treatment, Site Services, and Streams 1, 2 and 3.

We welcome applications from people who have:

  • A degree, or equivalent knowledge, in mechanical, electrical or another relevant engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent professional engineering judgement.
  • Experience leading engineering activity in a chemical, process, manufacturing or similar high-hazard environment.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance, asset integrity, maintenance strategy, engineering standards, pressure systems, safety instrumented systems and PSSR.
  • Experience leading technical investigations, problem solving, reliability improvement or continuous improvement work.
  • The ability to lead, support and motivate others, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A commitment to safe working, inclusion and values-led leadership.
