Our client operates within the highly specialised semiconductor industry, developing and manufacturing advanced technologies for demanding RF and microwave applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled engineer with experience in RF testing, semiconductor device characterisation and automated test systems to join an innovative engineering environment. You will play a key role in developing, maintaining and improving wafer-level semiconductor test capabilities, supporting new product introduction, production performance and continuous improvement. The Role As RF Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, accuracy and efficiency of RF and DC wafer-level testing systems. Working closely with Product Engineering, Production and wider technical teams, you will support the development of new test methodologies, optimise existing systems and provide specialist technical expertise to ensure consistent product quality and performance. Key responsibilities will include: Managing, maintaining and improving RF and DC wafer-level semiconductor test systems. Developing and implementing RF test methodologies, including S-Parameters, Noise Figure, Golden Wafer and Gauge R&R. Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring appropriate test capabilities are established for production. Developing and optimising test hardware, software, algorithms and automated test systems. Supporting the development and improvement of LabVIEW-based test applications. Specifying, procuring and commissioning probe cards and specialist test equipment. Analysing semiconductor test data, producing wafer maps, Statistical Process Control (SPC) reports, correlation studies and product performance reports. Investigating and resolving production test issues to minimise disruption and improve equipment performance. Carrying out semiconductor device characterisation, evaluation and diagnostic testing. Developing and maintaining technical documentation, test procedures, operating instructions and equipment records. Providing technical guidance, training and support to Test Technicians, Operators and Production colleagues. Identifying opportunities to improve test efficiency, reliability, repeatability and overall production performance. Promoting a strong culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence and safe working practices. About You We are keen to hear from experienced RF Test Engineers or semiconductor test professionals who have a strong technical background and a practical, hands-on approach to engineering challenges. To be considered, you will ideally have: An HND or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline. Experience in semiconductor device testing, ideally within a volume manufacturing environment. Practical experience developing, maintaining or supporting RF and/or DC semiconductor test systems. Strong knowledge of RF and microwave test equipment, including Vector Network Analysers (VNAs), spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes and signal generators. Programming experience using languages such as LabVIEW, C++, C#, .NET or Visual Basic. Experience analysing test data and applying statistical techniques, including SPC. Strong fault-finding, analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering and production teams. A proactive approach to continuous improvement and a willingness to share technical knowledge. Desirable experience includes: Experience selecting, specifying and commissioning semiconductor test equipment. Hands-on LabVIEW programming and automated test development. Experience supervising or supporting engineering and technical teams.
