Wolviston Management Services is recruiting on behalf of a leading client for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic engineering environment where safety, compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement are key priorities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring plant and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory and company requirements. Working closely with site teams and contractors, you will play a vital role in maintaining critical assets and minimising operational downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, coordinating, and carrying out preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Responding promptly to plant and equipment breakdowns to minimise disruption and downtime.
  • Executing maintenance programmes in line with daily, weekly, monthly, and annual schedules.
  • Maintaining and repairing a range of mechanical systems, including:
    • Steam and pressure systems
    • Bottled and piped gas systems
    • Industrial and automatic doors
    • Domestic water systems
    • HVAC systems
    • Building Management Systems (BMS)
    • Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems
    • Passenger and goods lifts
  • Supporting statutory inspections and compliance activities, including LOLER-related maintenance requirements.
  • Assisting with asbestos management processes in accordance with site procedures and legislation.
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with site SHE policies and procedures.
  • Issuing, accepting, and complying with Permit to Work systems.
  • Liaising effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will be:

  • A qualified and competent Mechanical Technician with relevant industry experience.
  • Experienced in both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance environments.
  • Familiar with pressure systems, HVAC equipment, water systems, gas systems, and associated plant assets.
  • Knowledgeable in health, safety, environmental, and compliance requirements within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Able to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to build positive working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
