Wolviston Management Services is delighted to be supporting our client in the recruitment of a Customer Supply Chain Coordinator.

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised, commercially minded and proactive individual to join a growing business operating within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will take ownership of an allocated customer portfolio, coordinating the end-to-end supply chain process from order receipt through to production completion and dispatch handover.

Acting as a key link between customers, suppliers and internal departments, you will play a vital role in ensuring orders are delivered efficiently, materials are available when required, and customer expectations are consistently exceeded.

The Role

As Customer Supply Chain Coordinator, you will manage the full lifecycle of customer orders, coordinating activities across Commercial, Production, Warehouse, Quality and Logistics teams to ensure seamless execution.

This varied position combines elements of customer service, order management, procurement, inventory coordination and production planning, offering excellent exposure across the entire manufacturing supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Order Management

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for an allocated portfolio of customers.
  • Manage customer orders from receipt and ERP input through to production completion and logistics handover.
  • Validate order requirements, quantities and delivery schedules.
  • Provide clear, accurate and proactive updates on order status and production progress.
  • Coordinate delivery information with the Logistics team to support customer communications.
  • Resolve customer queries, service issues and delays in a professional and timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships built on trust and reliability.

Procurement & Materials Coordination

  • Review bills of materials and determine raw material and packaging requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify potential stock shortages.
  • Source supplier pricing, lead times, pack sizes and minimum order quantities.
  • Create and manage purchase orders through internal approval processes.
  • Track supplier confirmations and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate customer-supplied materials and packaging requirements.
  • Support supplier performance reviews and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Production Planning

  • Convert customer demand forecasts into achievable production requirements.
  • Maintain production plans for assigned customer accounts and manufacturing areas.
  • Work closely with Production teams to develop realistic schedules.
  • Ensure material and packaging readiness prior to works order release.
  • Participate in production planning meetings and monitor plan adherence.
  • Respond effectively to changing priorities and operational challenges.
  • Assess and manage the impact of supply delays, labour constraints and equipment downtime.
  • Communicate revised production schedules and customer commitments where necessary.
  • Support the achievement of customer service and production performance targets.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate purchasing, planning and order management records.
  • Monitor customer service and supply chain performance metrics.
  • Escalate material shortages, overdue orders and operational risks in a timely manner.
  • Investigate recurring issues and contribute to corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost and enhance customer service.
  • Support ongoing development of planning tools, reporting systems and operational processes.
  • Ensure accurate order information is communicated to Logistics for effective dispatch planning.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in a supply chain, planning, procurement, customer service or manufacturing environment and be confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving operation.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Commercial awareness, including an understanding of stock management, pricing and lead times.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience using ERP systems, Microsoft Excel and operational reporting tools.
  • The ability to identify risks, elevate issues appropriately and implement practical solutions.
  • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Experience within contract manufacturing, chemicals, food production, pharmaceuticals or another regulated manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
