We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join our clients team at a busy processing plant in Teesside.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily plant operations, maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping, and production efficiency.
This is a hands-on role requiring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to site safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the operation and monitoring, processing and packaging equipment.
- Carry out general production and labouring duties as required.
- Load, unload, and move materials safely around the site.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards across the plant.
- Perform routine inspections and report any faults, defects, or safety concerns.
- Support maintenance activities and shutdown operations when required.
- Follow site procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Ability to undertake manual handling and physically demanding tasks.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A valid Site Safety Passport (CCNSG Safety Passport or equivalent).
- Flexible approach to work and shift patterns where required.
Desirable Requirements
- Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence and previous FLT operating experience.
- Experience working within a process plant, chemical, manufacturing, or bulk materials environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
