Wolviston Management Services are recruiting on behalf of Tioxide Materials Ltd for a Cash Manager to join their Finance team at their head office in Stockton-on-Tees.

Job Purpose

The Cash Manager, reporting to the Accounting Director, will be responsible for cash management operations, cash flow, liquidity, banking operations, short-term forecasting and treasury control activities across the UK businesses.

The role will work closely with Finance colleagues, banks, financial institutions and internal and external audit teams to ensure effective cash management, strong internal controls and accurate reporting.

  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Manage weekly short-term cash flow forecasting, working with Accounts Receivable, Source to Pay and wider business teams.
  • Consolidate cash forecasts to support senior management decision-making.
  • Investigate material variances against forecast and support improvements in forecast accuracy.
  • Prepare and initiate treasury payments, ensuring appropriate approvals are in place.
  • Confirm and verify transactions with banking partners.
  • Reconcile and resolve discrepancies between company records and banking partners.
  • Manage bank account administration, including account openings, closures, mandates and signatory reviews.
  • Support banking system activity, including SAP and online banking platforms.
  • Ensure bank statements are uploaded into SAP and clearing accounts are accurately maintained.
  • Support banking interface projects, including secure payment file and statement transfer processes.
  • Prepare analysis and reporting on cash, liquidity, forecasts and balances.
  • Maintain effective treasury controls and support improvements to the control environment.
  • Manage and monitor FX transactions using approved providers.

Experience and Qualifications

  • A degree in finance, business or a related subject.
  • A recognised treasury or accounting qualification, or willingness to study towards one, such as CTP, FCT, AMCT, CIMA or ACCA.
  • At least five years’ experience in a multinational treasury environment.
  • Practical experience in treasury back-office and middle-office activity.
  • Good knowledge of treasury operational and regulatory controls.
  • Understanding of international payments, SWIFT messages, foreign currency transactions, money market transactions, letters of credit and bank guarantees.
  • Strong Excel, Power Point, financial analysis and modelling skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain treasury matters clearly to non-specialists.
  • Confidence in making decisions under pressure.
  • A flexible, proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
