About the role
We’re looking for a Social Media Specialist to help our brand reach and engage more consumers across core markets (UK & Ireland, US, and rest of the world) through creative community engagement across all digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Act as a guardian for the brand, ensuring all campaigns represent our mission and values.
- Plan, execute, and measure the success of social and community‑led brand campaigns.
- Support the Brand Manager in coordinating channels and teams for key brand campaigns and product launches.
- Manage critical paths from concept to delivery in line with Brand Manager direction.
- Engage actively with the fitness community, seeking ways to connect Sweaty Betty digitally and physically with local and international audiences.
- Build and nurture a network of store ambassadors, meeting regularly in stores, capturing content, and building relationships.
- Collaborate with the Sweaty Betty Foundation to align messaging on relevant social channels.
- Manage social calendars, schedule posts, write captions, and respond to consumer moments.
- Serve as the day‑to‑day contact for store ambassadors, briefing and supporting them to produce high‑quality content.
- Stay culturally aware, identifying opportunities for socially led content and proactively creating it.
- Work collaboratively with other brand experts and channels to deliver best‑in‑class social & digital initiatives that increase brand awareness.
- Schedule and upload posts across all platforms.
- Drive innovation by exploring new features on existing platforms and expanding to new platform opportunities.
- Ensure all social output aligns with brand tone of voice and guidelines.
- Create best practices and guidelines for brand team, influencers, store managers, and contributors.
- Support execution of brand events, managing relevant POS, food & beverage, content, and talent requirements.
- Spend one day per week in the field nurturing relationships and identifying opportunities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience executing full‑funnel, 360° marketing campaigns in the lifestyle or related industry.
- Ability to drive brand awareness and consumer engagement across social channels.
- Experience managing a global social account (desired).
- Expertise in consumer behaviour, category dynamics, and cultural landscapes to create compelling brand stories.
- Deep knowledge of the social media landscape.
- Strong understanding of the activewear market and community; know who is culturally relevant.
- Excellent collaboration skills, working effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Strong ability to support cross‑functional projects and drive marketing initiatives.
- Can‑do attitude and willingness to roll up sleeves and get stuck in.
- Strong analytical skills to develop and analyse performance metrics, optimising marketing efforts to achieve business results.
- Experience building communities both online and in person.
- Experience in event planning and execution.
