As a Payroll Administrator, you’ll support payroll delivery, ensuring employees are paid accurately, on‑time, and compliantly across multiple locations, pay frequencies, and workforce populations. This role will directly perform payroll processing, funding, and reporting activities in partnership with an outsourced third‑party for international payrolls. The International Payroll Administrator is a key contributor to the employee pay experience, and to adherence to company and legal requirements.
Primary Duties
- Prepare, review, and process multiple global payrolls with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local tax and labor laws.
- Collect, validate, and compile payroll input data (manually entered by the role and received through system integrations), preparing detailed templates for submission to external providers.
- Partner with third‑party payroll vendors and internal Finance and Human Resources teams to ensure seamless and compliant payroll delivery and a positive employee pay experience.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, taxes, and payroll timing with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Provide payroll expertise and support to HR teams and employees on payroll‑related initiatives, policies, and requirements.
- Process company equity‑related payroll transactions, including stock activity and dividend payments.
- Coordinate year‑end payroll processes with external vendors and validate data prior to submission to local authorities.
- Assist with internal and external audits by gathering required payroll data and supporting documentation.
- Manage multi‑currency payroll processing, including currency conversions, and coordinate closely with Treasury/Finance on payroll funding and payments, as needed.
- Create, document, and maintain payroll procedures, controls, and system documentation.
- Perform responsibilities in alignment with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- 3+ years of experience in Payroll, Accounting, or Human Resources, and a bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- Hands‑on experience processing payroll across multiple countries with diverse tax laws, statutory requirements, and compliance obligations required.
- Experience with Germany, Italy, France or Netherlands payrolls, a plus.
- Continuous improvement mindset with experience improving payroll processes, system integrations, and workflows to increase accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Proven ability to manage multiple payrolls accurately and efficiently in a deadline‑driven, fast paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain payroll processes clearly to employees and stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Skilled in Excel including pivot tables, data filtering and intermediate level formulas.
- Experience with Workday and CloudPay is a plus.
- Prior experience supporting expatriate payroll packages and working directly with expats, a plus.
