Responsibilities
- Execute routine import and export transactions in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery and customs clearance.
- Respond to classification and compliance inquiries from external vendors and customs brokers under senior guidance.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update internal documentation accordingly.
- Assist in basic compliance checks and identify potential issues for review.
- Assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) codes to products under guidance.
- Maintain classification records and support updates to product databases.
- Gather necessary technical data for classification from product teams.
- Contribute ideas to improve trade workflows and reduce manual tasks.
- Assist in testing new systems or tools related to trade operations.
- Maintain trackers and reports to monitor operational performance.
- Communicate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to resolve shipment issues.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation for all trade transactions.
- Maintain organized records for audits and compliance reviews.
- Perform other duties as required/assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related business field.
- Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry.
- College internship in logistics, transportation or supply chain (preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present and explain data clearly.
- Professionalism: respectful behavior, positive attitude, and ability to build relationships across all levels.
- Independent and collaborative work style; ability to work as part of a team.
- Critical thinking: using facts, data, business analysis, and sound judgment to make recommendations.
