Responsibilities

  • Execute routine import and export transactions in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery and customs clearance.
  • Respond to classification and compliance inquiries from external vendors and customs brokers under senior guidance.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update internal documentation accordingly.
  • Assist in basic compliance checks and identify potential issues for review.
  • Assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) codes to products under guidance.
  • Maintain classification records and support updates to product databases.
  • Gather necessary technical data for classification from product teams.
  • Contribute ideas to improve trade workflows and reduce manual tasks.
  • Assist in testing new systems or tools related to trade operations.
  • Maintain trackers and reports to monitor operational performance.
  • Communicate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to resolve shipment issues.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation for all trade transactions.
  • Maintain organized records for audits and compliance reviews.
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related business field.
  • Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry.
  • College internship in logistics, transportation or supply chain (preferred).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present and explain data clearly.
  • Professionalism: respectful behavior, positive attitude, and ability to build relationships across all levels.
  • Independent and collaborative work style; ability to work as part of a team.
  • Critical thinking: using facts, data, business analysis, and sound judgment to make recommendations.
