Artist Call Out – Wolverhampton City of Youth Culture

Wolverhampton City of Youth Culture is a 3‑year project of festivals, events, careers development and arts trails delivered by a partnership of cultural organisations. Co‑created with young people, it aims to improve their self‑esteem, resilience, and social skills and build a lasting platform for cultural activity.

Responsibilities

  • Work across various art mediums to deliver workshops.
  • Facilitate up to 4 workshops between July – September 2025.
  • Create a multi‑disciplinary art piece for 2D print and integration onto an arts trail.
  • Lead, inspire, and co‑create with young people; collaborate with a digital developer to augment the artwork.

Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience delivering co‑creation workshops, especially with youth.
  • Familiarity with arts trails or similar public art initiatives.
  • Local to Wolverhampton.

Timeline

Artforms

Open to applications from any artistic or creative practice, including photography/digital arts, animation/illustration, ceramics, music, visual arts (2D drawings & paintings), poetry and creative writing.

Fee & Budget

Fee: £1,000 (inclusive of travel and expenses).

Separate materials budget available to support creative and cultural activity of up to £500 per location/youth group.

Location

Workshop locations to be confirmed; they will be local to Wolverhampton.
