About Wolt

At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.

Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.

Storefront is Wolt's white-label online ordering solution, the Merchant's own digital channel, powered by Wolt tech. It's part of the MerchantOS offering: customers reach the Merchant's branded ordering experience through their website, social media, Google profile, or in-store QR codes, while checkout, payments, support, and the courier network are handled by Wolt under the Merchant's brand. Storefront coexists with the Wolt Marketplace and serves a different consumer: the loyal customer who orders directly from the Merchant.

Next up: whitelabelled native apps, AI-generated branded sites, and a broader e-commerce offering for any Merchant who wants their own online channel.

As the Engineering Team Lead for Storefront, you'll lead the engineering team building this product end-to-end, partnering with Product and Design on direction, growing the team through hiring and 1-1s, and raising the bar on quality and reliability as we scale.

What you'll be doing

  • Define and drive the Storefront vision, roadmap, and technical direction in close partnership with Product Management, Business Stakeholders, and Technical Account Management - translating strategy into impactful delivery.
  • Play a significant role in shaping the team’s future and growth. You'll be an inspirer, facilitator, and enabler for the team to do what they do best by supporting your team members’ personal growth, hosting regular 1-1s, and taking part in recruitment.
  • Raise the bar by ensuring our Storefront products meet the highest quality and SRE standards as it scales to larger business volumes.

This role can be based in one of our tech hubs in London. We work in a hybrid model.

Our humble expectations

  • As a leader, your focus is on building a robust foundation of trust, driving empowerment and transparency, and fostering collaborative engagement.
  • You excel at unblocking challenges and listening with empathy, showcasing caring behaviour that puts others' needs first.
  • You guide and support the team to do what they do best by making personal development plans, hosting regular 1-1s, and participating in recruitment.
  • You know what it takes to develop top-quality software, how to support the team to make technical decisions, and enjoy being product obsessed in an agile and dynamic environment.
  • You are passionate about leveraging AI capabilities to optimize your contribution to the team as well as team processes, productivity and capabilities.
  • You are biased for action but also able to identify when to step back and let the team do its magic.
  • You are a good communicator, willing to serve people outside of your team, and a product-oriented and proactive problem solver willing to bring up issues constructively to the team and the whole Wolt Product team.
  • You are business result obsessed and look at all engineering deliveries from the perspective of how we create business value.
