As a Service Engineer based in Gatwick you will be responsible for:

  • Servicing the company's hire fleet and coordinating with the hire team to ensure equipment is ready ahead of customer demand.
  • Servicing customer-owned equipment and attending onsite breakdowns to provide timely technical support.
  • Inspecting returned equipment for damage, triaging customer-caused issues and liaising with the office to process damage reports.
  • Supporting customers with repairs either onsite or over the phone while maintaining full compliance with health and safety requirements.

Strong mechanical aptitude with skills or qualifications in mechanics, electronics or hydraulics; candidates with engineering or automotive-mechanic backgrounds are well suited. Hire industry experience is desirable, along with the flexibility to support work on the hire fleet and occasionally travel to other branches if required. Full driving licence essential for attending breakdowns; a forklift licence is an advantage. Positive, customer-focused attitude with strong communication skills to deliver clear technical support both face to face and over the phone.
