As a 3.5T Delivery Driver based in Basildon, you'll be responsible for:
- Driving a 3.5T van to deliver plumbing and heating supplies mainly within an 80-mile radius of the branch.
- On average 8 deliveries which will vary day to day, mainly to new build construction sites but also residential customers and other businesses.
- Carrying out vehicle checks.
- Loading and unloading deliveries, which involves manual handling of heavy items such as boilers, radiators, toilets and sinks.
- Assisting in the warehouse if back from deliveries early with unloading stock, picking & packing orders, stock checks and general tidying.
This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week (some flexibility may be available on hours). Monday to Friday between 07:30 - 17:00. Saturday working is required 08:00-12:00 noon on a rota basis, which is paid as overtime.
Here's what we'd like you to have:
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence
- Previous multidrop driving is preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with PDA devices
- To be a team player who is happy to assist in the warehouse to ensure the smooth running of the branch
