As a Transport Manager based in Darlington, you’ll be responsible for:
- Leading the transport team to deliver safe, efficient, and on‑time services for our customers.
- Ensuring compliance with transport legislation and company policies while promoting a positive safety culture.
- Managing route planning, driver scheduling, and real‑time vehicle tracking to optimise performance.
- Building strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to maintain service excellence.
- Driving improvements in fleet utilisation, cost control, and operational standards.
The role is full‑time, working 37.5 hours a week, Monday - Friday.
And here’s what we’d like you to have:
- Proven experience in a Transport Manager role with strong knowledge of transport legislation and compliance.
- Certificate of Professional Competence in Transport (CPC) is desirable.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience in performance management and coaching.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Knowledge of FORS and Earned Recognition standards, plus experience in collision investigation processes.
