Responsibilities
- Assisting the Branch Manager with the day to day running and operations within the branch and take charge when they are not available
- Supervising and supporting colleagues, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to achieve targets and goals
- Serving customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge
- Developing the customer base, improving retention, satisfaction, product mix, and range
- Identifying and recommending ways to improve profits
- Building rapport with suppliers
- General warehouse duties including, goods in & out, picking and packing customer orders (this will involve manual handling heavy stock i.e., toilets, sinks, boilers, and radiators)
- Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
Contract & Working Hours
This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 5.00pm and Saturday on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.
Requirements
- Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable
- Prior experience as a Supervisor within a Face-to-Face sales environment is essential
- Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Managers absence
- Someone who is comfortable making outbound sales calls to customers to gain new business
- To be a team player who is happy to take on a diverse role to carry out all jobs in the branch to ensure it runs smoothly
- Keenness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic
