Role Summary

Branch Supervisor – Northampton – Plumb Centre (Wolseley Group).

Full‑time, permanent role. 40 hours per week Monday‑Friday 08:00‑17:00, Friday only, Saturday rota 08:00‑12:00.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Branch Manager with day‑to‑day running and operations of the branch
  • Supervise and support branch staff, providing guidance, training and performance feedback
  • Serve customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge
  • Build rapport with customers and suppliers, respond to queries and process sales
  • Handle general warehouse duties – goods in & out, picking and packing customer orders
  • Occasional relief delivery driving, 3.5‑tonne van

Requirements

  • Previous industry or merchant experience preferable
  • Experience in a face‑to‑face customer‑service/sales environment
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with customers
  • Team player, willing to take on a diverse role to keep the branch running smoothly
  • Willingness to step up and run the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence
  • Keenness to learn, positive and enthusiastic attitude, strong work ethic
  • Full UK manual driving licence (3.5 tonne van)
