As a Senior Health and Safety Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
- Leading the delivery of a clear, ambitious H&S strategy that drives sector‑leading performance and a positive safety culture across your areas of the business.
- Embedding safety into day‑to‑day operations by partnering closely with Directors and regional leadership teams to ensure H&S is considered in every decision.
- Driving continuous improvement through robust programmes, effective training, and initiatives that strengthen engagement, capability, and ownership at all levels.
- Overseeing incident investigations, identifying root causes, and ensuring corrective actions and learnings are implemented and shared across the business.
- Providing meaningful insight and reporting on H&S performance, supported by regular audits, site visits, and proactive risk management to maintain safe environments for colleagues and customers.
This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and will require regular travel to sites across the Wolseley Group.
And here’s what we’d like you to have:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (desirable) or NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification)
- Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) with up-to-date CPD.
- Background in fast‑paced, multi‑site environments, with a strong understanding of emerging H&S trends and how they translate into practical business impact.
- Proven leadership capability with a track record of shaping, influencing, and elevating safety culture across complex operations.
- Experienced people manager with the ability to coach, develop, and empower others to reach their full potential.
