Key responsibilities:
- Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations and quotations.
- Handling customer queries and providing solutions, including sourcing, quoting, and managing special orders.
- Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch sales, particularly focusing on customers with reduced or inactive spending.
- Maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of product developments, market trends, and industry changes.
- Coordinating with suppliers to source materials, check availability, and negotiate costs.
Work hours and flexibility:
This is a full‑time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 17:00. There is also flexibility, which can be discussed at interview.
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ability to resolve customer queries.
- A proactive, target‑driven mindset.
- Willingness to work as part of a team and to take on a diverse role.
- Keenness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Full UK manual driving licence is advantageous.
