As a Service Engineer based in Gatwick, you will be responsible for:
- Servicing the company’s hire fleet and coordinating with the hire team to ensure equipment is ready ahead of customer demand.
- Servicing customer-owned equipment and attending onsite breakdowns to provide timely technical support.
- Inspecting returned equipment for damage, triaging customer-caused issues and liaising with the office to process damage reports.
- Supporting customers with repairs either onsite or over the phone while maintaining full compliance with health and safety requirements.
This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between 8.00am - 5.00pm.
Here’s what we’d like you to have:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with skills or qualifications in mechanics, electronics or hydraulics; candidates with engineering or automotive mechanic backgrounds are well suited.
- Hire industry experience is desirable, along with the flexibility to support work on the hire fleet and occasionally travel to other branches if required.
- Full driving licence essential for attending breakdowns; a forklift licence is an advantage.
- Positive, customer-focused attitude with strong communication skills to deliver clear technical support both face to face and over the phone.
