Sales Assistant/Delivery Driver based in our Alnwick branch.
Working hours: full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:30–16:30 and alternating Saturday mornings 08:00–12:00.
Responsibilities
- Drive a 3.5T automatic van to deliver products within a 20‑mile radius of the branch.
- Serve customers on the trade counter, understanding their needs and providing product advice and recommendations.
- Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.
- Make outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain business.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging new and existing customers.
- Perform general warehouse duties: booking incoming stock onto the system, putting it away, picking and packing customer orders, including manual handling of heavy items such as boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid driving licence.
- Knowledge of plumbing and heating (ideal).
- Previous face‑to‑face sales and customer service experience.
- Warehouse experience.
- Excellent customer‑service skills.
- Team player, willing to assist in all areas to ensure smooth branch operation.
- Strong work ethic, positive and enthusiastic attitude, eager to learn.
