Responsibilities
- Supporting the Branch Manager with day‑to‑day running and operations within the branch
- Building rapport with customers and suppliers, responding to queries and processing sales
- Serving customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge
- General warehouse duties – goods in & out, picking and packing customer orders, involving manual handling of heavy items such as boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets
- Merchandising within the branch
Hours
Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday on a rota basis between 7 am‑5 pm and every other Saturday 8 am‑12 pm (paid as overtime).
Qualifications
- Previous industry or merchant experience is essential
- Prior face‑to‑face sales and customer‑service experience
- Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with customers to build strong relationships
