Wollens is seeking an experienced and motivated Private Client Lawyer to join our Care and Capacity Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable clients and making a real difference in their lives. You will be working in a collaborative environment, providing high-quality legal advice and representation in matters relating to care, capacity, and the Court of Protection. The role would be based in our Torquay office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising clients and their families on all aspects of mental capacity law, including Lasting Powers of Attorney, Deputyship applications, and related issues
  • Representing clients in Court of Protection proceedings
  • Managing complex cases involving health and welfare decisions, financial matters, and safeguarding concerns
  • Working closely with healthcare professionals, social services, and other stakeholders
  • Drafting legal documents and providing clear, practical advice
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice
About You
  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in private client law
  • Expertise in care and capacity matters, including Court of Protection work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy and understanding for vulnerable clients
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently as well as part of a team
