About us

Wollaston, part of the William Morgan Group, is looking for a reliable and organised Compound Assistant to join our busy Preparation Centre in Earls Barton. At William Morgan Group, our mission is simple: to deliver outstanding automotive services. This role is vital in helping us prepare vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring smooth movement, security, and efficiency across our preparation operation.

The Role

As a Compound Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our vehicle compound, supporting the preparation team and helping ensure vehicles are ready on time and to standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the movement of inbound and outbound new and used vehicles arriving and leaving site via transporter.
  • Ensure vehicles are parked correctly and safely within the compound.
  • Check vehicles for any transport damage and accurately document any issues.
  • Assist with the movement of vehicles around the site to maximise technician productivity.
  • Carry out battery checks on new and used stock vehicles within manufacturer timescales, with training and support provided.
  • Ensure vehicle keys and security are maintained in line with Group Policy, using the onsite Traka key system.
  • Fit number plates to outgoing vehicles when required.
  • Collect parts and deliver vehicles to subcontract repairers to support preparation turnaround times.
  • Support the general organisation, welfare, and efficient use of the compound and site areas.

  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Previous automotive or compound experience is desirable, but not essential.
