Wolfspeed is seeking an IT Commodity Manager (CM) to join Wolfspeed’s Business Support Services team in Indirect Procurement. This Commodity Manager will be responsible for supporting indirect procurement activities for several departments with emphasis on software and hardware purchases, IT services, contract negotiations and renewals, and other related activities. The individual in this position will be responsible for aspects of supplier selection and ensuring alignment between suppliers’ deliverables and the needs of the business.
The Day-to-Day:
- In this role, the CM will analyze Wolfspeed spend data, identify key suppliers and trends, and discuss current and future needs with a diverse group of internal stakeholders.
- Refine sourcing strategies to address pain points and/or optimize supply base for Wolfspeed.
- Identify strategic suppliers and cultivate relationships to position Wolfspeed as a preferred customer.
- Drive alignment to procurement policies and processes, including implementation of supplier scorecards and regular business reviews as appropriate.
- Identify and implement opportunities to drive down total costs of ownership through avoidance or direct reductions.
- Implement/maintain contract lifecycle management, facilitate timely contract reviews, and manage renewals with key departmental stakeholders.
- Own and manage the Requests for Information, Quote, or Proposal (RFI, RFQ, RFP or collectively, RFX) process from start to finish.
- Lead the contract review process, providing detailed insights in review of contracting documents and steering each contract through the review steps.
- Become an expert on negotiations in which favour and/or protect Wolfspeed in as much as market conditions allow.
This is an individual contributor position that regularly interfaces with colleagues at all levels of the organization. The successful CM is an experienced professional, able to work independently most of the time and requesting support when needed. This position also requires organization of information and projects, prioritization of tasks for self and collaborators, ability to self-manage timelines/deadlines, accountability/follow-through, and soliciting and incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
The successful CM demonstrates excellent communication skills by:
- Building relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Presenting to senior leadership with poise and precision.
- Tailoring delivery and message to each audience.
While IT will be the primary focus of this position, there may be occasional need to support other requirements or stakeholders of the Business Support Services team.

- BS or BA in an analytical field of study, or equivalent work experience demonstrating analytical and negotiation skills.

- Working knowledge of SAP and SAP Business Network (formerly Ariba).
- Familiarity with Icertis or another contract lifecycle management software platform.
Highly Preferred Skills:
- Demonstrated success (5+ years) in negotiating IT software contracts, as either the customer or service provider.
