Lead Event Producer — Wolf Pack League
Bristol · Permanent · 3 days/week · £27,000 (£45k FTE)
Wolf Pack runs two-day team hiking and navigation races across the UK. Racers travel around 30 miles by map and compass, completing checkpoints and challenges and sleeping out overnight. Phones are sealed. The races are physically demanding, social, playful and sometimes deliberately absurd.
After two seasons and around 650 racers in 2026, we’re looking for an experienced Lead Event Producer to take ownership of producing our growing programme of races.
The role
You’ll take Wolf Pack events from an agreed concept through planning, launch and preparation, making sure the people, places, suppliers, equipment, information and systems are all ready for race weekend.
The founder will continue to lead Wolf Pack’s creative direction, including the overall concepts, routes, challenges and experience. Your role is to create the structure around those ideas and make them happen.
Responsibilities will include:
- building and managing event production schedules
- managing budgets, suppliers and bookings
- coordinating coaches, campsites, venues and permissions
- recruiting and coordinating freelance crew and volunteers
- overseeing participant and crew communications
- maintaining operational documentation
- coordinating trackers, insurance, printing, equipment and event materials
- keeping event inventory and systems properly organised
- making sure each race is ready to hand over to the live event team
- improving templates, processes and systems so repeat events become easier to produce
In 2027 we expect to run approximately 8–12 events, with the longer-term ambition of building an operation capable of delivering 20+ races nationally.
This is primarily a year-round production role rather than a requirement to work every race weekend. You should expect to attend a small number of events, or parts of events, where useful, with required weekend attendance agreed well in advance.
Who we’re looking for
We want someone who gets satisfaction from turning complicated things into organised things.
You’ll probably have significant experience in live events, outdoor events, festivals, experiential events, races, expeditions or another environment involving lots of people, suppliers, deadlines and practical moving parts.
We’re particularly looking for someone who is:
- exceptionally organised and detail-focused
- proactive, efficient and good at getting things finished
- confident owning projects and chasing decisions
- good at creating simple systems, templates and processes
- comfortable with spreadsheets, project-management tools and other digital systems
- articulate and a strong writer
- practical, resourceful and calm when plans change
- energetic and interested in unusual outdoor experiences
- happy working independently in a very small company
You’ll also need to be comfortable managing upwards. If you need a decision from the founder by Tuesday, we want you to say so — and chase it if necessary.
Wolf Pack isn't an endurance event company. The races are physically demanding, but they are also social, playful and sometimes deliberately absurd. We need someone who can take the production extremely seriously without requiring the event itself to behave sensibly.
