What You’ll Do as a Senior Support Worker

  • Be a positive role model to the children and your team, leading by example with empathy, consistency, and integrity.
  • Take an active role in creating and maintaining a safe, stimulating environment.
  • Support children who may have experienced trauma, with behaviours that challenge, with compassion and strength.
  • Contribute to and lead on key working, risk assessments, and care planning.
  • Guide and mentor junior staff, promoting best practice across the home.
  • Assist the Registered Manager and Deputy in ensuring high standards, policy compliance, and quality assurance.

About You

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Solid knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations (2015) & Ofsted requirements.
  • Experience with children/young people with autism, learning disabilities, or behavioural challenges.
  • Resilient, calm under pressure, and skilled in de-escalation.
  • Confident communicator, strong team player, and IT proficient.
  • Willingness to work a shift pattern including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins.
