About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Deputy Manager or a Senior Support Worker ready to step up for an exciting opportunity within a new Childrens Residential Home in Sunderland, supporting children and young people aged 8-18. This role is ideal for a passionate and motivated professional who is committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred care and wants to play a key role in the development and success of a newly opened service. As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in leading the home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and positive environment where young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Supervision: Support, motivate, and lead the care team, promoting a person-centred and therapeutic approach.
- Care Planning: Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and review of Care Plans and Behaviour Support Plans.
- Staff Development: Mentor and support team members, encouraging continuous professional development.
- Compliance & Safeguarding: Ensure full compliance with Childrens Home Regulations (2015) and safeguarding standards.
- Multi-Agency Working: Liaise effectively with professionals, families, and external agencies.
- Operational Support: Assist with daily operations including rota planning, household management, and administrative tasks.
Ideal Candidate
- An experienced Deputy Manager or Senior Support Worker looking to progress into management.
- Proven experience within a Childrens Residential Home environment.
- Passionate about achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care (or equivalent).
- Experience in a supervisory or senior role within a similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of Childrens Home Regulations (2015) and safeguarding requirements.
- Full UK driving licence.
