Wolds Wine Estate is opening a café/restaurant and deli within a new purpose built space. To achieve this we are looking for a General Manager to lead and manage the new café, restaurant and deli area of the business. They must have relevant experience, be driven and passionate about delivering great value and customer satisfaction. Role Overview
We are seeking a charismatic and experienced General Manager to set up, manage and run all aspects of our new café, restaurant and deli space. The set up will involve overseeing the kitchen install and set up of seating/serving areas followed by the hiring and managing of the whole team to run the business. This role requires a dynamic leader with a passion for hospitality, strong business acumen and a knack for innovation; ensuring every visitor experience is exceptional and memorable. You will work directly with the owner to develop and deliver the strategic vision for the Estate.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Management: Hire, lead, motivate and develop a team to support the delivery of our café, restaurant and deli space. Create a positive, energising and high performing work culture throughout the operation.
Operational Excellence: Ensure that the café, restaurant and deli run smoothly and are focused on visitor experience whilst delivering business value.
Financial Performance: Drive operating profit through efficient management and innovative strategies. Monitor and report on key performance indicators such as revenue growth, operating profit and visitor/employee satisfaction.
Visitor Experience: Uphold our exceptional visitor experiences, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business. Develop marketing initiatives to ensure footfall through increased awareness and excitement for our business.
Event Management: Own, develop and manage events (including but not limited to wine tastings) that drive value for the business and exceed visitor expectations. Create an exciting and on-brand event programme for locals and visitors to the area.
Restaurant Management: Own, develop and manage the restaurant operations ensuring high quality service that delivers visitor satisfaction and business value.
Deli/Retail Management: Own, develop and manage the retail function (both in-store and online) with a focus on wine/deli items and quality produce/items that delivers visitor satisfaction and business value.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve and develop our offering to develop the business, improve operations and enhance the visitor experience. We are eager to grow and develop the business and want someone who comes with ideas and is hungry to drive the business forward through new offerings.
Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role within the F&B industry, preferably with experience of setting up from scratch (e.g. kitchen design/layout, hiring new team, marketing etc).
Leadership: Proven track record of effective leadership, with the ability to inspire and manage a small, effective and diverse team.
Diligence: You will be responsible for key processes such as Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Alcohol Licensing and Standard Operating procedures so you will need a strong operational mindset to ensure we are always compliant to legislation.
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
Visitor Focus: Deep commitment to delivering exceptional visitor service and satisfaction.
Innovation: Ability to find opportunities for new revenue streams and improve the operation delivering cost savings and greater returns.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Details
Workplace: Wolds Wine Estate, NG12 5BE. Occasional need to travel. Home working will not be an option.
Hours per week: 40 but will require flexibility
Working Pattern: Flexible to meet needs of the business with weekend work expected.
