This job is an excellent opportunity for a Team Manager - Data & Insight (Children Social Care and Early Help) to join our Performance and Intelligence Team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full-time, permanent basis. As Team Manager for Data & Insight, you will lead the delivery of high-quality performance reporting, analysis and statutory returns, ensuring senior leaders and practitioners have clear, timely and accurate information to support decision-making. You will use data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, drive service improvement, and monitor the impact of interventions across Children's Social Care and Early Help.

Leading a team of performance analysts, you will embed a strong culture of data-driven practice, accountability and continuous improvement. You will work closely with Heads of Service, Directors and partners, strengthening performance management, inspection readiness and data governance, while ensuring compliance with statutory and data protection requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a pivotal leadership role, using insight and innovation to shape services, support frontline practice and deliver lasting improvements for children, families and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop and maintain robust data collection and analysis systems to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and outcomes for children and families.
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate data insights to a range of stakeholders, including senior management, practitioners, and partner agencies.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of all data related to Children's Social Care.
  • Lead on statutory returns and data submissions to government agencies, ensuring compliance with deadlines and data quality standards.
  • Lead the development of strategic plans and service improvement initiatives by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging trends and best practices in children's social care data and analysis.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Significant experience in data analysis and performance management within a Children's Social Care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practices in children's social care.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to a range of audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
