Job Description
We have an excellent opportunity available for a Procurement and Contracts Support Officer to join our Procurement and Contracts Team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full-time, permanent basis.
As the Procurement and Contracts Support Officer, you will support the procurement and contract activities across the organisation. This is a key role that ensures effective provision of professional services that meet customer needs.
This role will contribute to the delivery, performance, quality control and the compliance for specialist areas, whilst working collaboratively with key stakeholders, suppliers and colleagues across the organisation.
Working with the Commercial Contracts Specialist and Procurement Manager to deliver best value for money to our community through effective procurement and contract management process and procedures.

Key responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of procedures and processes to support procurement and contract management activity.
- Assist in the monitoring of contract KPIs and contract compliance work.
- Be a key customer and supplier relationship officer including site visits as required.
- Maintain up to date records of contract management activity.
- Produce reports on contract compliance/performance, contract timelines, including termination notices and renewal periods.
- Provide administrative support to the contract manager, such as scheduling review meetings.
- Collaborate with and advise service areas where appropriate to ensure contract management support material is understood and used.
- Support the early stages of procurement activities as required by the procurement manager.
Skills, qualifications and experience
- Experience in supporting contract management activity, preferably in a public organisation / local authority.
- Experience of managing systems, data handling and producing reports.
- Administrative experience, including organising and managing meetings
- Experience of working in a customer focused team, liaising with external organisations and officers at all levels
- Strong IT skills specifically in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Good organisation and people skills
- Confident self-starter with the ability to take initiative.
This is a car user post, and you will require a car to carry out some of your duties in the post. Your car must therefore be insured for business use.
