We have an excellent opportunity for two passionate and enthusiastic Organisation Development Officers to join our HR & OD Team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full-time, 15 month Fixed Term Contract. There are two vacancies.

As the Organisation Development Officer, you will support the development and implementation of the corporate learning framework and training offer. We are a highly ambitious Council and are about to embark on a significant period of transformation in Organisational Development, so you will work with the wider OD Team to co-design and deliver training programmes across the Council, ensuring that we provide high quality training for all. The roles will support in the delivery of our People Strategy to include tools and interventions to help the council achieve its strategic ambitions which will include programmes such as culture, performance management, leadership and development. Experience of working within a local government setting would be highly advantageous as would being an accredited Insights Practitioner. This role is 80% delivery of training, so the ability to travel to Wokingham to deliver in person training is essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and implementation of the Councils Corporate learning framework and training offer.
  • Co-create training packages and be responsible for the delivery of training, predominantly face to face, to support the Organisational Development programme that will embed a learning culture across the Council.
  • Work in partnership with Managers and teams across the Council to ensure that learning sessions are coherent, accessible and in-line with industry standards and the evolving needs of staff.
  • Design and use tools to evaluate the impact of learning and organisational development initiatives and conduct regular monitoring, reviewing and evaluation of the programme as per agreed objectives.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree-level, equivalent relevant professional qualifications, or expertise
  • Good IT skills including office software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering training face to face with some hybrid training options
  • Experience of developing and delivering specialist training such as leadership, performance management, mentoring and other corporate programmes

Whilst this is a fixed term contract appointment, for anyone already employed by Wokingham Borough Council this would be classed as a secondment if successful.
