Senior Social Worker – Preparing for Adulthood Wokingham Borough Council Contract: Permanent Full Time DBS Check: Enhanced We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Senior Social Worker to join our Award Winning Adult Social Care team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a Full-Time, Permanent Basis. This role is part of our incredible Preparing for Adulthood team working with young people aged 14 up to 25 to help them transition into Adult Social Care. As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring that the quality and performance are met by providing guidance, support, supervision, and/or line management to registered and non-registered social care professionals. With a focus on the health, safety, and wellbeing of vulnerable individuals and those who care for them, you will work in accordance with the Care Act 2014 to assess, review, or reassess the complex needs of customers and their carers within the borough. You\’ll be joining a varied and supportive team who are passionate about young people and achieving the best outcomes to give them the best start into adulthood. To provide guidance, support, Supervision, and/or line management of registered and non-registered Social Care professionals, ensuring that quality and performance are met. To direct, support and undertake risk assessments and formulate risk management plans, having regard for the safety of customers and others, whilst promoting independence and supporting positive risk enablement where appropriate. Professional degree level Social Work qualification or equivalent. Current registration to professional governing body (Social Work England). Good working knowledge of the statutory framework for the relevant care group and of an appropriate range of professional interventions. Demonstrable ability to lead, motivate, supervise and performance manage staff. Full EU driving licence (and access to daily use of a car).
