We are looking for a caring, passionate and enthusiastic experienced Band 5 Registered Staff Nurse to join our amazing team. At our hospice, we provide exceptional care to patients and their families through some of the most challenging times of their lives. We support our patients in our Inpatient Unit, at home plus in our Wellbeing Centre. Our charity specialises in palliative and end of life care for patients with complex and life limiting illnesses who live in North-West Surrey. We ensure high quality care with great staff to patient ratios, making sure everyone feels cared for and valued. Our warm, clean and homely environment helps patients and families using our services feel safe and comfortable.

In addition to the wonderful environment, we have a keen focus on education and development. Our education team supports excellent training sessions taught by our in-house experts. Furthermore, our staff are encouraged and supported to increase their professional skills through courses and university modules. Recent examples of our commitment to developing our team include:

A successful Palliative Care Staff Nurse Band 5 will be a key member of the multi-disciplinary team. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. You will utilise your advanced nursing skills and knowledge, possess a can-do, enthusiastic attitude, and have experience of palliative care (desirable but not essential as we can offer support through our training and development programme). You will be a compassionate nurse who plays a key role in planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based individualised nursing care. You will also possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and be able to lead and motivate others. An ability to teach and support junior members of the team is essential, as well as supporting complex patients with their medical, social and psychological needs. You will engage in the development of the ward and focus on improving care and ensuring best practice at all times.

A successful candidate will have:

  • A legal right to work in the UK (we are not able to offer sponsorship).
  • Relevant experience (unfortunately, at this time applications from newly qualified Registered Nurses cannot be accepted).
  • Current NMC Registration.
  • RN educated to Diploma or Degree level.
  • Evidence of recent professional updating and relevant personal development.
  • Palliative care qualification (or willingness to complete).
  • Mentorship qualification (or willingness to complete).
  • UK Registration.
  • A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
