Woking & Sam Beare Hospice are pleased to announce the following position: Specialty Doctor in Palliative Medicine 6 PAs. We are a patient‑centred charity that delivers palliative and end of life care to those with advanced life-limiting illnesses, who live in Northwest Surrey. We care for patients and provide support to families and carers in the community as well as in our In‑Patient Unit and Well Being Centre at the Hospice. You will be joining a passionate and dedicated team of professionals that make a real difference to the families across Surrey community.

Are you a doctor with experience in Palliative Medicine, General Practice, General Medicine, Oncology, or Geriatrics looking to make an impact in palliative medicine? Our hospice is seeking a dedicated individual to join our multidisciplinary team, bringing their expertise to our beautiful facility in the heart of Northwest Surrey. This rewarding role offers doctors the opportunity to provide compassionate care to patients with life‑limiting illnesses. The successful applicant will work closely with our clinical teams to provide high‑quality, evidence based, person‑centred supportive and end of life care, both in our inpatient unit and in the community.

Main duties of the job:

  • Clinical Care: Provide high-quality, evidence based, holistic care to patients and their families, addressing physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside our consultants and multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated palliative care services both on the inpatient unit and within the community.
  • Education and Development: Work with the Clinical & Education Teams to support the development of clinical practice through education.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality initiatives and clinical projects, such as audit and policy review, with opportunities to enhance career portfolios, while contributing to the continuous improvement of our services.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration within the multidisciplinary team and with external healthcare providers.

Our care is provided without charge and is delivered within the community, within our patients’ homes, as well as in our 20 bedded inpatient unit and Wellbeing Centre located in Goldsworth Park in Woking. Our holistic approach is designed to care for patients’ physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. The multidisciplinary Team comprises of Doctors, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Paramedic Specialists, Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistants, Complementary Therapists and Counsellors. The Hospice works in partnership with local Integrated Care Services, local Hospitals and Health and Social Care Community providers to ensure integrated, joined‑up care for our patients and those important to them.
