Woking & Sam Beare Hospice are pleased to announce the following position: Retail Warehouse Driver. We are a patient-centred charity that delivers palliative and end of life care to those with advanced life-limiting illnesses, who live in Northwest Surrey. We care for patients and provide support to families and carers in the community as well as in our In-Patient Unit and Well Being Centre at the Hospice.
You will, therefore, be joining a passionate and dedicated team of professionals that make a real difference to the families across Surrey community. A career within the hospice is fulfilling and exciting, working with amazing people all of whom are extremely passionate about what they do.
A successful Retail Warehouse Driver will be:
- Must have GCSE English and Maths [or equivalent]
- Warehouse and or retail experience
- Delivery and distribution experience
- Working in a team environment and managing a diverse team of people
- Understanding of the potential value of donated items
- Understanding of safe working practices
- Good communication and interpersonal skills are important as this is a very people facing role
- Adaptable and flexible with a willingness to do a varied role
A successful candidate will have:
- Advanced driving licence
- Warehouse or distribution experience
- Charity experience would be an advantage
- Knowledge of basic Health & Safety and Fire Regulation requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of Gift Aid
- An eye for collectables and ability to identify quality goods that have a higher value
- Knowledge of the recycling process
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, but not limiting in this position
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
