Woking & Sam Beare Hospice is looking for a motivated Shop Manager to run our new charity shop.
Our shops generate vital income to support specialist palliative and end of life care for patients, carers and families across North West Surrey.
In this rewarding role, you will manage daily shop operations, support colleagues and volunteers, oversee stock, pricing and merchandising, promote Gift Aid and ensure customers and donors receive a warm, professional welcome.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day shop operations, stock, pricing and merchandising.
- Lead, support and motivate staff and volunteers.
- Deliver excellent customer and donor service.
- Promote Gift Aid and help maximise sales income.
- Maintain accurate cash handling, banking and records.
- Ensure the shop is safe, compliant and welcoming.
- Work flexibly across Hospice retail locations, including weekends and bank holidays.
About you
We are looking for someone with retail management or supervisory experience, strong organisational skills and the ability to motivate a team.
You will be confident working with customers, donors, colleagues and volunteers.
Good communication, basic IT and numeracy skills are important. Experience in fashion retail, charity retail or working with volunteers would be an advantage.
