Do you have a love and expert knowledge of trees and the environment and an ability to work with a variety of parties, contractors and community groups to survey our tree stock and guide the necessary works to both enhance and keep safe, our green Borough.

We wish to recruit a qualified Tree Surveyor to join our team within Environmental Services. This exciting opportunity will see you contributing to the achievement of a safe and pleasant environment within a Borough that is over 60% Green Belt.You will have the ability and experience of working across a wide range of services and with a variety of stakeholders including our Contract Partners; other Council Service areas; Police; Surrey County Council, our residents and community groups and schools.

The Tree Surveyor will be responsible for the administration and support of the organisation's asset management system KaarbonTech. Using the system to undertake surveys throughout the Borough for risk management and specify necessary works to be issued to our Street Scene and Grounds contractor and monitoring said works to ensure they are carried out to the required specification/British Standard.

You will carry out cyclical and reactive surveys as well as responding to customer enquiries which may involve site meetings and site inspections in order to answer the queries where necessary. A high standard of accuracy, quality and customer care shall be maintained at all times to ensure that services are delivered in line with Council expectations and Tree Policy.

You should have a good general level of education including GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent); the relevant NPTC/Lantra awards for tree works; C&G/NPTC/Lantra “Licence to Practice L3 (or a desire to train towards); and competent IT skills.

A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential for this post.
