Join our Digital Services team and play a key role in powering the Council's digital, data and technology environment - so colleagues can serve our community, every day.
What youâll be doing:
- As an Infrastructure Analyst, youâll ensure the stable, secure and highâperforming operation of our infrastructure - across networks, servers (physical and virtual), data communications and telecommunications - while providing expert 2nd line support to colleagues across the Council, keeping vital services running.
- Youâll test performance, produce practical insights and documentation, plan and deploy security controls, and help ensure compliance with PSN and our Information Security policy.
- Youâll also contribute to strategic planning with the Infrastructure & Service Desk Manager and support procurement activity (tenders, contracts and vendor engagement).
- When required, youâll act as a lead consultant on specific projects.
What youâll bring:
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure concepts, protocols and standards, with handsâon experience across enterprise networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN) and securityâembedded design.
- Proven ability to administer and support: Microsoft 365, Exchange, SQL, Active Directory, SAN, Hypervisors, Azure/AWS, Arcserve.
- Practical troubleshooting of servers, routers, switches, NICs, etc., plus clear written documentation skills.
- Helpful knowledge of Citrix, mobile technology, telephony, VoIP, UNIX/Linux, Windows scripting, and cloud services.
- Proven ability to successfully deliver infrastructure-related projects.
- Excellent communication - able to translate complex technical issues for nonâtechnical audiences.
Essential qualifications and experience include:
- Degree level or relevant experience.
- MCSE / MCSA accreditation or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of infrastructure concepts, protocols, and standards.
- Knowledge of managing and configuring enterprise-wide networks including LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc.
