Woking Borough Council is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our dedicated Environmental Health Team. This is a full‐time, permanent position offering a varied and rewarding workload.

About the Role

Reporting to the Principal Environmental Health Officer, you will play a key role in protecting and enhancing public health across the Borough. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert advice and guidance to residents and businesses
  • Conducting inspections and investigations
  • Taking appropriate enforcement action across all areas of environmental health

We are looking for someone with broad experience in Environmental Health, including food safety, health and safety, and pollution control. The role suits a confident and proactive individual with strong investigative, written, and customer service skills. You should be comfortable working with diverse client groups and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

A full, valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.

Additional Information

The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate. Support will be provided by the Council, with further details available in the application pack. The ability to converse confidently with customers and provide clear advice in spoken English is essential. An assessment may be required.
