The successful candidate will assume responsibility for first day calling with a particular focus on disadvantaged students. A core purpose of this role is to work alongside the Senior Leader on all matters relating to student attendance, with a focus on vulnerable learners. The role also involves providing support and advice to students to promote their social care and personal development with respect to learning and health and safety.
We are a popular and heavily oversubscribed 11-16 mainstream school with additional expertise and facilities to include two focused SEND provisions for students on the autistic spectrum and for those who are deaf and hearing impaired (ARC and Deaf Academy). We have also developed an on-site base to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. Our small and bespoke sixth form provision (WOA6) caters for students in Years 12 and 13 who have EHCPs. We are outward facing and work closely with the local community – families, schools, businesses and community groups – with whom we share a common priority: our pupils are front, back and centre of every decision we make at WOA.
Our vision is to create a school system where every child thrives, regardless of background. Our people are at the heart of our approach – they are our greatest asset. We exist to provide the best learning opportunities every day, in every school for every child. If you join Ormiston, whatever your role, you can be sure your work will have purpose and meaning.
